Dr. Lutters’ research interests are at the nexus of computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), social informatics, and social computing. He specializes in field studies of IT-mediated infrastructural work, from a sociotechnical systems perspective, to better inform the design and evaluation of collaborative systems. Recent projects have focused on scientific cyberinfrastructure, usable privacy and security, moderation in social media, and knowledge management for maintenance activities.
Dr. Lutters is also an advisor to the Dean’s Student Advisory Council.
